We blacked out all the windows and doors in The Arty Place to turn it onto a camera obscura. And, in the dark, we drew!

The Arty place on access art.
A little while ago our friends at Access Art asked me to write a small piece about how The Arty Place came about. The arty place is a changing, growing, organic thing but I thought you might like to see where the idea came from in the first place. Enjoy!

Year 9 "Motion in Fashion" sportswear competition
The whole of year 9 participated in a competition to design an outfit for an olympic sport or for the fans of that sport. The competition was put on by the London College of Fashion.
A selection have been sent to the London College of Fashion the rest of the designs put into an exhibition in the arty place for a fashions extravaganza!

greenhouse inspired experimental drawing with years 4-6 (and a sneaky year 8!)
For two days over the easter holidays two groups of young people played, explored and experimented with drawing in The Arty Place. This is what happened...

Ever fancied standing in a queue with a king and a scotsman?

Artist Rosalie Schweiker will be constructing the post office all this week 28th February -4th March 2011. The emely post will then be open from Monday 7th March for letter writing, message in a bottle sending, stamp producing, delivery, erm, delivering and loads more. Including cups of tea.
